TRAINPLANNER is an open-ended puzzle game where you have to create a safe, efficient and pretty rail network to let Miku deliver her leeks. It's important work!

Please comment your finished tracks, I'd love to see 🩷 (or any bugs oops)

CONTROLS:
Left click to place, right click to delete

PRESS R or use mouse wheel to rotate tracks

Use 1/2/3/4 to switch between different modes, or press the on-screen buttons!

Press to toggle the UI off if you just wanna watch the trains go

PRESS M to toggle the music on/off

Thanks so much for playing 🩷🚂🌱

Such a lovely game! After a while I discovered that new stations can indeed appear on top of existing tracks and I had to rearrange everything xD

I just got an engineering degree with this game

why does it not go?

Look at the arrows on the tracks next to the houses, they are both pointing the same direction.

Probably one of the toughest seeds for me.

Seed: 8946

If the game ever decides to get remade, I wish that there was a way to force trains to take a more inefficient track route to make sure it avoids intersections and traffic.

(regarding the idea of adding forced pathing)
I would suggest a mode where you can set each train's exact location and also its schedule (Go here, then here, then here), and then hit play, so you can watch what route it tries to take automatically, and also experiment to see what causes collisions.

I have an urge to make an inspired-by game, (so I could add touch screen and play on my phone), and I would add S-bends so you can send a train down a parallel track 1 or 2 squares over instead of minimum 3 squares over.  But I feel that it would be a different game.  The inefficiencies are part of the puzzle.  Leaning into that, I would also add trains getting multiple train cars.

Found an impossible level

I am absolutely obsessed with this game, and I wish it worked with touch screen so I could play in bed, on the toilet, during dinner, etc.

(+3)

yeah this is pretty good, only i wish there were:

-more stations

-more theme

seed: 6419

Have to say, this is a great little game - esp. for a jam entry :)
Great work!

Sure, I'll throw my hat in the ring:

Seed   [ 6 8 0 1 ]

Save for some rare deadlocks, this had it set around 75 LpS.

(+1)

With a little tweaking...

5th or 6th level
81 LPM, occasional crashes (though I can't figure out why), Seed 1703

(1 edit)

Third try, 65-75 lpm  . All tracks are one-directional  .  I think the seed was 2024

I've got it to 75 lpm.  Unfortunately collisions do occur on occasion. I'm still working on it.  Seed: 2313

I'm tying pretzels over here! Collisions are a thing of the past.  I could probably try for 80, but I'm just going to call it a day and be content with my 76 lpm. :)

Hi Toffee this is the best game ever but I have a question: Is there an empty seed? Feels like it would be fun to have a true chill mode with a chill seed. LMK!

(+1)

Good game!

(+2)

roundabout in the middle :) about 60 leeks/min

(+1)

That was fun and cute to play ! Thank you :)

(+1)

Train network with 4 way intersection.

(+1)

it's beuatiful

(+1)

Got one more but 4 way intersection is less useful

(+1)

Tried making it as efficient as possible

(+2)

Look at this overcomplicated nonsense.

Show post...

good

(+1)

Signals should be directional, so that it's possible to enforce one-way segments

(+1)

this was genuinely so fun and relaxing! i wish there was an endless mode, but maybe that's just me not wanting to let go of the tracks i've built and starting a new game :)

this was my second attempt! (in my first attempt i wasn't even thinking about making the tracks one way and the trains kept kissing each other lol)

(+1)

loved this little game! the chill mode is really cute and fun. I'm sure there's less chaotic ways to place things but if even I was able to be successful I'd say it's pretty user friendly! First time I opened this a week or so ago the trains wouldn't move at all, but I tried again today and it's working as intended.

(+1)

Very addicting, managed to get up to 65/m on the seed 8855

Awesome game

(+2)

I only ever play in chill mode because I just want to chill, but I particularly liked seed 5354 here

Very nice seed indeed, this is my try:

Good stuff these trains can pull out 20gs of deceleration to instantly stop at the signal, real convenient

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever built. Seed 3310.

Seed 3009, highest leeks per minute I've gotten so far

Another of my favourites

very good

I’ve been using this game to procrastinate at work this week LOL it’s soooo satisfying. I would love an endless version where you can scroll around a bigger map and it just keeps giving you more stations forever. Miku must build her leek empire!!

Me too, so easy to just come back and continue playing after getting some work done...

(+3)

I noticed that pausing the trains doesn’t pause the leeks per minute counter, not sure if that is intentional?

Here is a build on seed 5605. Avoid deadlocks while allowing loopbacks and shortcuts with minimal tracks is surprisingly difficult!

(+1)

The best thing about this game, for me, is the possbility to really try to improve the rail sistem and better yourself.

(+3)

Yeah! This was like the third or fourth major iteration of this map. With like Minimetro is just keeps throwing things at you so you can never actually improve things, whereas here you can really experiment with different routes and the leeks per minute gauge tells you how well you’re doing

I would add these two extra joints to optimise the route some way further, to allow skips for trains that need them. Also there is a possibility to add a big way around to the left, but that seems like a big amount of rail for just a small decrease in distance for some trains

(+1)

Just wanted to say I'm loving this game. Keep coming back to it when I have a spare 20. Would definitely pay for a fully fleshed out release. Feels like it could be a train version of Gridroad. An endless/sandbox mode would work pretty well!

Since the stations gradually increase, the tracks naturally extend, and in the end, they naturally become complex, which is really fun.

It's also nice to see other people's track layouts in the comment section!

The pixel art of leeks and Miku was also cute. It was a very enjoyable gaming experience, meow~!

Really bad seed ( 0040 )

(1 edit)

Very much enjoyed, although the lack of an options menu does get annoying at times.

Also, the UI cannot be disabled in fast-forward mode.

(+1)

Something i found out: all buttons still work when you disable the UI. so hide the UI while normal, remember where the fast forward button is and click in that exact spot :)

Got a weird one today

Can't create the last station, F10 brings me back safely but still won't create the last one. Assuming it's trying to place the last one in an illegal spot. Seed 9870

Thank you so much for the seed and log!! I've got a fix for this and it'll be uploaded today

(+1)

Wow, this is a really good fun game!

I really enjoyed the game, despite the fact that stations may appear on the tracks...

But keep up the good work ^^

Fantastic little gem!

My only criticism is the music volume, is too loud. So I have to lower the either my headphone or system volume. Maybe a volume slider would help a bit here.
